Duguers de Montrosier

Furniture maker

(1758 - 1806)

Born at Landau in the French Palatinate, Pierre-Louis-Arnulphe Duguers de Montrosier was expected to have a brilliant military career like his father. Made a sous-lieutenant at the age of sixteen, in 1779 he left the army. He began work as a furniture maker in 1800, producing very well-finished luxury furniture. He printed a collection of designs for the Exposition des produits de l’industrie française in 1806, but died prematurely that same year.
